He failed to negotiate sharp bend
A man is fighting for his life following an early-morning single-vehicle crash in Newton Abbot early on Monday morning.
Police were called at 4.10 a.m. after a report of a collision between a motorcyclist and a barrier at the end of Aller Brake Road in the town. The rider was taken to Derriford Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It appears he collided with the barrier after failing to negotiate a sharp left hand bend. The road was closed for almost eight hours while enquiries into the circumstances of the collision were conducted.
Police have thanked the public for their patience while officers carried out their investigation through Monday morning.
