The discovery was made in caves near Hope Cove at the weekend.
Kingsbridge Police say searches were carried out on Saturday morning (16th November) around a system of caves within the cliffs at Hope Cove.
They say sadly a body of a woman was discovered.
In a post on Facebook, officers said formal identification had not yet taken place, but the family of Peta Harper, who was reported as missing from Aveton Gifford have been informed.
A file will now be prepared for HM Coroner.
