Coastguard, Police, Fire and Search and Rescue Teams spent yesterday looking for him.
Police say the family of 43 year old David Gerry, missing from Torbay have been told about the discovery of a body on Watcombe Beach.
Police, Ambulance, the Coastguard and Sear and Rescue Teams were involved in the search yesterday (Wednesday 22nd May).
This death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
Dartmoor Search and Rescue team, Ashburton, who were involved in the search said: "Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the individual at this sad and difficult time."
