Patients in Devon are being warned to think ahead if they need to stock up on medicines for the festive period.
Health professionals say GP surgeries will be closed over Christmas and people need to visit their GP in advance to organise a repeat prescription to ensure they don't run out.
They're also asking people to phone the non emergency 111 phone number, if it's not an emergency, to reduce pressure on A & E.
Doctor David Jenner, a spokesman for the new Devon health CCG, says people should act now.
