Final plans to turn Budleigh Salterton hospital into a health and wellbeing hub have been given the go-ahead.
The full business case for the development has been approved by the board of the Northern Devon NHS Trust which manages the hospital.
The Trust will pay half of the £800,000 cost of creating a centre providing health, social care and voluntary sector services - the rest of the money will come from the hospital's League of Friends.
Building work starts in May and is due to be finished in September.
