The lowest-priority applicants for council housing in Exeter could be removed from the register.
The city council is looking at scrapping Band E - which represents people who have no housing need and haven't requested a property for 12 months.
Anyone in Band A is a priority and includes vulnerable adults and families with safeguarding issues.... and the change would enable housing officers to concentrate on them and the other more urgent categories.
Band E has already been scrapped by Teignbridge District and Torbay Councils.
