The possible causes of the last few years' disappointing weather are being discussed today by a group of meteorologists and climate scientists, meeting at Exeter's Met Office.
It's the first meeting of its kind and was convened in response to the abnormally cold spring this year.
The weather experts are expected to look into other anomalies including last year's heavy rain and flooding.... and the run of poor summers.
The experts will be looking at the drivers behind weather and climate, and identifying whether further research is needed.
