A catalogue of problems is being blamed for the traffic chaos in Exeter this morning.
Motorists reported long delays in the Topsham Road area caused by temporary traffic lights near the Tally Ho pub, for roadworks by Western Power Distribution.
The electricity company says the traffic lights - which weren't working correctly - had been supplied by the council and THEY weren't told until long tailbacks had formed - leading to their own engineer getting stuck in traffic when he turned up to fix the lights.
The company have apologised to all motorists and say they aim for the lights to be removed before this evening's rush hour.
