The Exeter MP Ben Bradshaw claims ministers have absolutely no intention of keeping their promises to fund work to make the lines less vulnerable to high tides and flooding.
The chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Business Council, Tim Jones, says he was hoping to hear about the proposals last week when the Government announced their spending plans through the Queen's Speech.
But there was no mention of work to improve resilience on the local network..
