The leader of Devon county council is calling on the Government to step in - after the latest damage to local transport links.
Network Rail says it'll take at least six weeks to repair the track at Dawlish after Tuesday's storm damage.
Local business leaders say the lack of a rail link will cost the economy millions of pounds every day.
The county council leader John Hart is also chairman of the body representing local authorities across the south west.
He says the region as a whole has suffered years of under-funding and the Government needs to recognise the urgent need for investment in the road and rail infrastructure.
