A joint Trading Standards service is to be set up to serve Devon and Somerset, saving hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The move has been agreed by both county councils who say the new service will cut 'back room' costs but will not involve any staff having to relocate, as there'll be bases retained in both Devon and Somerset.
The councils say the change will also provide the benefits of larger-scale working, with improved intelligence sharing and the flexibility to deal with complex investigations.
