Devon and Cornwall police are being asked for reassurances that they're well-equipped to deal with crimes of child sexual exploitation.
The police and crime commissioner Tony Hogg has requested a report, in the light of the child sex abuse scandal in Rotherham.
He says the public need to be confident that the police are able to identify incidents of child sexual exploitation, that victims are listened to and believed, and that perpetrators are pursued vigorously.
He's expecting the Chief Constable to deliver a report in the next month.
