The new Police and Crime Commissioner's proposals for reducing offending and improving public safety go before a panel of local councillors today.
The Police and Crime Panel will be considering Tony Hogg's plans.. which include a three-pounds-a-year rise in council tax to prevent any further decline in officer numbers.
Mr Hogg is determined to keep the force at its current level of about three thousand... as well as increasing the number of Special Constables to provide a more visible presence.
