A Dawlish man has been found guilty of murdering his estranged wife - and sentenced to 17 and a half years in prison.
Exeter Crown Court heard that 37 year old James Luke McDonald of Kingsdown Crescent hit and strangled Sophie McDonald, a mother of three, in January this year.
Her body was found in a house in Iddesleigh Terrace several hours after she had been reported missing.
He admitted killing her but said he had not meant to do so.
