All trains are currently using the line because of engineering work near Tiverton
Delays are expected on trains until around 1900 tonight (Wednesday 6th March) after a train hit a road sign near Whimple.
The train - which sustained serious damage - has now moved, allowing lines to reopen, but delays could last for hours.
All trains from Exeter St Davids heading east are currently using that line because of the closure of Tiverton Parkway for engineering works on the Whiteball Tunnel.
⚠️ *NEW 06/03* Following a train hitting an obstruction on the line earlier today between Honiton and Exeter St Davids all lines have now reopened. Train services may still be delayed or changed. Disruption is expected until 16:00. https://t.co/Ssj2lzz3Xm
