Work is expected to begin today on knocking down the remains of the Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter
A 95 ton demolition machine arrived in the Cathedral Green yesterday and today it's expected to start taking down the front wall. Once that is removed firefighters are expected to be able to access the inside of the gutted hotel.
A cordon in the city centre is expected to be further reduced today..as around thirty businesses are still closed.
Devon and Somerset Fire and rescue service have formally handed the Royal Clarence back to its owners and the emergency response phase of the operation has ended.
