Scratchcard was just the ticket
A Devon bus driver says he'll stay at the wheel despite bagging a million pounds on a National Lottery scratchcard.
Steve Goodwin, 51, from Holsworthy, bought his winning ticket from a supermarket at Easter.
Now he's buying a house for the first time and, along with his partner Heidi Hammond is planning more holidays and using the winnings as a nest egg for their retirement.
Mr Goodwin said the shop he bought the scratchcard from told him it was a winner, so he put it under his pillow for safe-keeping at first.
He got "a bit emotional" and "shed a tear" after his win was confirmed.
The day after buying his ticket, he returned to work for a normal shift driving between Launceston and Plymouth and said he will keep working.
"I love my job. It's great to meet so many people and the countryside as you drive around is sometimes breathtaking," he said.
