Thousands of families in Exeter and mid and east Devon are struggling with debt, according to figures published today by The Children's Society.
They say in Exeter just under two thousand are unable to pay their bills or keep up their loan repayments.
In East Devon there are around 12 hundred, in Central Devon around 15 hundred, and in Tiverton and Honiton more than 17 hundred.
