Devon residents recognised in the King's Birthday Honours

Fifteen people awarded

Fifteen people from across Devon have been honoured in the prestigious King's Birthday Honours 2025.

Among them, two have been awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), with four receiving the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). 

Seven Devon residents have been named Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), while two have earned the British Empire Medal (BEM) for their services.

People receiving a CBE:

Professor Ruth Endacott, from Exeter, is a director of nursing and midwifery from the National Institute for Health and Care Research. She has been appointed a CBE for services to nursing research and critical care education and practice.

Peter Michael Cox, from Exeter, is a professor of climate system dynamics in mathematics at the University of Exeter. He has been appointed a CBE for services to science and to climate modelling.

People receiving an OBE:

Professor Timothy Michael Lenton, from Exeter. He is the founding director of the Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter, and chair in climate change and earth system science. He was appointed an OBE for services to understanding climate tipping points.

Carole Mary Boulanger, from Ottery St Mary. She is a consultant nurse and advanced critical care practitioner at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and board member, the faculty of intensive care medicine. She was appointed an OBE for services to critical care.

Taryn Jane Pearson Nixon, from Buckfastleigh. She is the Director at Taryn Nixon Heritage Works and a trustee at the National Lottery Heritage Fund. She has been appointed an OBE for services to archaeology and heritage.

Professor Shirley Christine Lane from Plymouth. She is an emerita professor of toxicology at the University of Surrey. She has been appointed an OBE for services to industry and consumer protection.

People receiving an MBE:

Amy Charlotte Manning, from Exmouth. She is the managing director of S12 Solutions and has been appointed an MBE for services to mental health.

Peter Hugh Burroughs from Yelverton. He is a trustee and chair of the Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education. He has been appointed an MBE for services to education.

Camilla Susan Hampshire, from Sidmouth. She is a museum manager and cultural lead at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery. She has been appointed an MBE for services to culture in Exeter.

Carolyne Ruth Hague, from Cullompton. She is a principal adult occupational therapist at Devon County Council and chair of the National Principal Occupational Therapist Network. She has been appointed an MBE for services to occupational therapy in adult social care.

John Bernard Carlisle, from Ashburton. He is a consultant anaesthetist at the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. He has been appointed an MBE for services to medicine and patient care.

Cheryl Julie Amanda Weyman, from Brixham. She is the chief executive officer, of The Academies for Character and Excellence Trust, in Devon. She has been appointed an MBE for services to education.

Catherine Yelf, from Totnes. He is the chief executive, of Macular Society. She has been appointed an MBE for services to people living with macular disease.

People receiving a BEM:

Geoffrey Edwards, from Barnstaple. He has been appointed a BEM for services to the community in Barnstaple.

Judith Kate Weedon, from Ilfracombe. She has been appointed a BEM for services to the community in Berrynarbor.
