Kev Payne, who's been a primary school teacher for 17 years, says the message on Exeter High Street is his final goodbye to teaching.
It says "Children you are not data. Learn, inspire, dream, create.
Mr Payne, from Crediton, has also written a poem for any child leaving primary school - it's on YouTube.
