HMS Richmond away till Christmas
A Devon-based warship is heading to East Asia following two-and-a-half years being refitted in the county.
HMS Richmond now has new diesel propulsion and control systems, and will join a UK patrol following a short stop in Scotland for exercises.
For many local families, it means being apart from loved ones until Christmas, and for some it's the first time.
Royal Marines from Devon, together with helicopter and naval air squadrons from Yeovilton and Culdrose are joining the UK carrier strike group in East Asia.
Commander Hugh Botterill says they'll be going through some "interesting" parts of the world before reaching their destination.
