Cordons in place in Exmouth and Plymouth

Cordons have been put in place in Exmouth and Plymouth after separate unexploded devices were found.

In Plymouth, a 400m cordon is in force in the Millbay area following the discovery of a 50kg German WW2 bomb on a building site.

Millbay Academy, which has more than 500 pupils, will be closed today.

In Exmouth, an unexploded ordnance was dredged out of the water, and a bomb disposal team from the Midlands was called in.

East Devon District Council is urging people to avoid the marina until further notice.

A temporary shelter was set up at the town's LED Leisure Centre overnight for those who needed it.
