An Exeter University historian will be at Buckingham Palace to receive an MBE later today.
Dr Todd Gray was born in America but has been with Exeter University since 1988.
He's published 45 books about Devon's history, covering issues including politics, wild flowers and farming.
He was awarded the MBE for services to Devon's heritage in the New Year's Honours list.
