Local people can help stop child abuse - by not keeping quiet if they suspect that it might be happening.
Devon's child protection authorities are urging people to report any signs of abuse or neglect - after hearing that a third of those who do suspect it don't say anything.
The chairman of the Devon Safeguarding Children Board, Mark Gurrey, says they needn't worry about making false accusations as everything will be carefully checked.
Possible signs of abuse or neglect include children having unexplained injuries, missing a lot of school, self-harming, becoming very secretive, suddenly having more money than usual or being out late at night.
