A plan is being created by council staff to reduce the number of empty homes in East Devon over the next 4 years.
There are currently 467 properties that have been neglected or left unoccupied long term in East Devon.
The new 4 year plan will look at how the council can help owners bring them back into use.
Over the last 12 months 25 homes have either been sold or occupied as a result of East Devon council's intervention.
The initiative is being highlighted to coincide with empty homes week which is running until Sunday.
