Junction 28 closed for hours
A crash on the M5 on Thursday evening left a driver in hospital and the motorway closed at junction 28 southbound leading into Friday morning rush hour.
Now police are appealing for witnesses to a collision that involved a single vehicle, a red Porsche, at around 9 p.m. The driver was still at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital on Friday evening. Their condition has not been revealed.
Police says that because the vehicle crossed from the southbound to the northbound carriageway and extensive damage, a full closure of the M5 motorway was put in place with significant diversions.
They've thanked the public for their patience during a lengthy road closure and asked for anyone with dashcam footage of the incident tocontact 101 and quote log reference 1119 of 11 August.
