He remains in hospital
Police were called at 4.50 p.m. on Wednesday (23 December 2020) to reports of a collision involving a car and an elderly man on the High Street in Newton Poppleford.
South West Ambulance Services and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident which involved a Ford Fiesta and a 93-year-old pedestrian, who was taken to Exeter's RD&E with life-threatening injuries, where he remains. The driver of the car came away unscathed.
The High Street was closed for around four hours to allow for an examination of the scene, and recovery of a vehicle.
