23-year-old woman arrested
An elderly man was taken to Hospital with serious injuries following a crash between a car and a pedestrian in Paignton on Monday 7 April.
Emergency services were notified of the collision which involved a green Citroen C1 VTR saloon and a pedestrian on Great Western Road, Paignton at the junction with Torbay Road, at around 3.55pm.
The pedestrian, a local man in his 70s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Torbay District Hospital for treatment.
A 23-year-old woman from Paignton has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. She has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
The road was closed for around five hours and police are appealing for any witnesses.
