Blaze in block of flats
Everyone is reported to be safe following a fire in a block of flats in the Pinhole area of Exeter.
Fire crews were called to Hillyfield Road around 8.30 p.m. on Friday evening after smoke was seen coming out of the middle floor of a three-storey residential building.
Two fire engines from Middlemoor, one more and an aerial ladder platform from Danes Castle were initially sent to the incident.
Crews used a door breaker and a makita saw to gain entry before putting out the fire and then using a pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property and clear smoke logging.
The fire was in the bedroom of a second floor flat resulting in 100 per cent damage by fire, and light smoke logging to the rest of the flat.
Everyone in the building got out safely.
