The Exeter Pound project has signed up its biggest business so far - the Exeter Chiefs rugby club.
They'll be accepting the currency and using it to pay their local suppliers, putting large amounts of it into circulation.
The club had a turnover of 12 million pounds last year - and their involvement is expected to draw in more traders.
