Guy Pottle remanded in custody
An Exeter man has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer following an incident in Newton Abbot in the early hours of yesterday morning [Tuesday 10 February.]
39-year-old Guy Pottle is accused of attacking a female Police Constable at a property in Drake Road in the town. The officer was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
Emergency services attended the address shortly after midnight on Tuesday 10 February following reports of an assault in which a woman sustained minor injuries.
Mr Pottle, from Exeter has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer. He has also been charged with assault occasioing actual bodily harm in relation to the inital incident.
Mr Pottle appeared before magistrates sitting in Plymouth on Wednesday 11 February. He was remanded in custody to appear before Exeter Crown Court on Thursday 12 March.
