Staff at Exeter's JJB Sports store have been made redundant, as part of 2,200 job losses nationally.
Administrator KPMG closed 133 stores and sold the remaining 20 to rival Sports Direct.
The news comes after Sports Direct announced a move to the out-of-town Stone Lane Retail Park at Digby.
