Exeter's about to get a huge boost in broadband speeds.
New fibre technology means the city could be exchanging data at Gigabit speeds, rather than megabits.
For businesses on industrial estates it brings welcome improvements.
Nick Baxter-Sibley chairs the Marsh Barton Forum of Exeter's Chamber of Commerce. He says telecoms companies are eager to get a share of the pie.
Virgin, BT, CityFibre and Triangle Networks are among those said to be preparing to offer very high speed packages.
Marsh Barton Forum's next breakfast meeting, which is free for businesses on the Marsh Barton industrial estate, explores the topic and will be addressed by Joe Walsh, from the growth and enterprise office at Exeter City Council, and Paul Turner from Cosmic. It will focus on how companies can qualify for gigabit broadband vouchers. The meeting is at the Mercedes Van Centre, Marsh Barton, on Thursday 13 September at 7.30 a.m. Tickets are available from Exeter Chamber of Commerce.
