Dawlish Warren and Exmouth are to benefit from an 8.6 million pound flood defence scheme... as part of a 25.3 million pound package allocated to the South West.
Most of the money's come from DEFRA, but it's backed up by a contribution from the regional flood and coastal committee, raised through a local levy.
The Dawlish Warren and Exmouth Beach Management Scheme is designed to reduce the flood risk to nearly three thousand homes and businesses... as well as the local railway line.
