Dave Parr, a 45 year old amputee from Budleigh Salterton, is full of praise for Exmouth Power Tools when they literally got him back on his feet.
Dave had lost his leg in a near fatal road traffic accident which was caused by a driver using his mobile phone whilst behind the wheel.
He was on holiday with his wife Sarah, when his 10-year old privately-made prosthetic leg came apart, leaving him unable to walk.
Unfortunately red tape prevented the NHS being able to fix his private leg as only the original company that crafted the leg is allowed to repair it.
With a waiting list of approximately three months to get a new leg made on the NHS, Dave decided to attempt to mend the leg himself. He went to Exmouth Power Tools simply to purchase the appropriate Allen key. When owner, Gary Wright, saw what Dave needed to repair he went one step further than simply selling him an Allen key and actually took the leg from Dave and repaired it with his colleague, Adrian.
Dave says Gary and Adrian are a true credit to the human race in their act of pure kindness which, quite simply, got him back on his feet.
