Road closures are in place in Exmouth as work to clear sand from the seafront has begun.
Queen’s Drive, footpaths and parking bays were covered with the stuff on Friday.
East Devon District Council and Devon County Council are working together to clear the sand.
A spokesman says the road is temporarily closed while the work is being done, but will reopen in sections as it becomes clear.
It could take three to four days to complete.
