The mystery surrounding the sinkhole which keeps appearing on Exmouth beach may have been solved.
Engineers have discovered a water pipe deep under the sand at Orcombe Point, where the two-metre wide hole has opened up three times in six weeks.
It appears that the pipe has become blocked in some way and South West Water engineers will now be working with the district council to investigate the problem.
