Head to Exmouth's Strand area to enjoy the new year fireworks this year. Safety worries make seafront display too costly.
Exmouth's traditional new year fireworks are being held in a different place this year, following health and safety concerns which mean that the cost of insurance for a seafront display has sky-rocketed.
Last year, two people fell from the roof of the Octagon cafe.
Tonight, people will be able to enjoy the display from most of Exmouth town centre, looking in the general direction of the Strand.
The event's going ahead despite a firefighters strike in the region for six hours from half past six and spanning the turn of the year. Devon and Somerset fire service hasn't asked organisers to cancel any displays - and has contigency plans in place in the event of an emergency.
