Police investigating
At fire at the Toby Carvery at Middlemoor, Exeter on Sunday evening is being investigated by police.
Several calls had been made to emergency services, reporting what was initially thought to be a shed fire near the restaurant around 6.40 p.m.
It turned out to be in a wooden laundry store, which then spread to a hotel corridor.
Two fire engines were initially sent, but before they got on scene they asked for another two when seeing a large fire in the distance.
On arrival, crews believed it was a holiday chalet on fire but later confirmed it as a shed also affecting the Toby Carvery.
The laundry store was 100 per cent damaged by fire and the hotel corridor was 10 per cent damaged by fire.
