Fag end thought to be cause
A small fire at a residential home in Ilfracombe is thought to have been started by a cigarette end thrown into a bin.
Although the blaze didn't spread from one of the bedrooms, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue sent appliances from Ilfracombe, Barnstaple, Combe Martin and Braunton, along with the aerial ladder platform.
After being called at around 2.15 p.m. on Wednesday, crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation fans to put the fire out and clear the building of smoke.
The ambulance service treated a woman with oxygen therapy after she suffered smoke inhalation.
The discarded cigarette is through to have caught fire to the bin liner.
