A fire has broken out in a popular Exeter city centre nightspot.
Emergency crews received a call at around 10.00pm that smoke was coming out of a commercial building in Exeter's Queen Street.
On arrival, firefighters discovered than a blaze had broken out in the basement of the Cavern Club.
Crews took more than 4 hours to tackle the fire which they say started accidentally.
Dozens of people took to twitter and social media last night upset and concerned about the incident and a crowdfunding page has already been set up by fans of the alternative club and bar.
It's hoped it will help raise more than £2,000 for a refurbishment following the fire.
