The cause was accidental
The fire service have rescued a dog from a blaze in Bovey Tracey.
Crews from Bovey Tracey, Ashburton and Torquay were called to the rear of a property in De Tracey Park in the town on Monday afternoon.
When they arrived, it was confirmed there was fire on the ground floor involving a dishwasher in the kitchen.
Electrics were isolated and two fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus and equipped with a hose reel jet tackled the blaze.
A dog was rescued from the property and treated with a pet oxygen therapy mask.
The fire has been confirmed as accidental.
