A thatched cottage has been destroyed by fire after a blaze which raged through the night in Newton Poppleford.
Emergency Services were called to Harpford Common at 19.20pm yesterday evening to reports of a chimney fire.
The blaze quickly spread to the property and at its height 12 fire appliances were on the scene.
The fire was left to burn itself out overnight, with crews on the scene to maintain a fire watch.
