Police are asking local antique dealers and jewellers to be on the lookout for several stolen First World War medals.
They were awarded to a soldier called James Joseph Wimms and were taken from a house in London Road in Whimple during a burglary earlier this month.
They include a Distinguished Conduct medal and a 15-star medal made of bronze with a red, white and blue ribbon.
Anyone offered the medals for sale should contact the police.
