Two adults and new-born escape Woodbury blaze
A new baby and a man and woman in their thirties have been treated for smoke inhalation following a fire above the post office in Woodbury.
Three fire engines from Middlemoor, Honiton and Newton Abbot rushed to the first floor flat in Broadway in the village on Monday evening after the occupants called to say their kitchen was on fire. They quickly put on the blaze which centred around the gas cooker. The family, all of whom were suffering from the effects of smoke, was initially checked over by fire crews until an ambulance arrived.
The fire, which had started accidentally, didn't spread beyond the kitchen and the incident was over within 40 minutes.
