Exeter City football club say they're launching an investigation into an incident during Thursday's pre-season friendly at Taunton Town, when a red smoke pellet was let off in the stand behind one of the goals.
Exeter City fans are believed to be the culprits.
The club say while they support the efforts of their fans to creat an atmosphere on match days, they have a zero tolerance approach to the letting off of smoke devices in football grounds.
They have apologised to Taunton Town and say they'll take appropriate action against the individuals involved.
