An initiative to reduce workplace accidents in Exeter and East Devon is starting this week.
The most recent figures available, for 2012, show that 255 accidents were reported by Exeter companies, and 549 in East Devon.
Local councils are now working with the Health and Safety Executive to offer small businesses on local industrial estates a free check, and staff training on issues such as fire safety and manual handling.
They're visiting the Marsh Barton estate in Exeter, and Heathpark in Honiton.
