Projects including the redevelopment of Exeter bus station and the building of the Exeter Science Park could benefit from a Government funding boost.
The Exeter and East Devon Growth Point partnership has received a conditional offer of eight million pounds from a pot of money for supporting economic growth.
The partnership is planning to put the money towards projects such as transport schemes and green energy networks which underpin other developments.
If the money comes through next year as expected, it could pay for some of the early work to regenerate the Exeter bus station site.
