Marsh Barton's planned new railway station looks set to get up to two million pounds in Government funding to help move the project forward.
The Heart of the South West Local Transport Board, which decides how Government money for large local schemes should be spent, met this morning to consider the business case for the station.
They agreed to make a big contribution - the amount will depend on the final costings for the project - and said it was important that plenty of work was also done to promote rail travel.
