The campaign to keep the colony of wild beavers living on the river Otter is attracting further support from various sources.
The Devon Wildlife Trust is working to safeguard the beavers and wants to get a licence from the Government for a five-year monitoring project.
During the weekend the TV wildlife presenter Chris Packham highlighted the cause to his 112 thousand Twitter followers.
Children at Ottery St Mary primary have dressed in beaver masks and performed a rap in support of the animals - while at West Hill they sang their own version of the Christmas Band Aid hit - but with the chorus changed to Save the Beavers.
